The stitching holding my rear screen in has started to rot causing the rear screen to come away from the hood. Can anyone recommend a local company that can supply a new screen and re-stitch it into the original hood? I'm located in Brentwood Essex, outskirts of SE London.

Cheers

Not sure about a local place but see if your rear screen is covered by your insurance, if so you'll only pay about £60.

Not possible without getting a different rear leather hood, as the plastic curves around the sides, and when the hood is down, it folds so that the crease is in between the V of the struts. If it were glass then you would need a smaller glass section that unzipped. Anything is possible, but I don't think anyone currently makes such a thing.

there is a bloke that does it at a place called car interiors, his name is Gary Kybert, he's a top bloke and very helpful. he put a new one in for me for £150 all in. i think that it would be less if he just stitched in the old one. he is based in hayes and can be got on these numbers 0208 5614709 or 07956 832052

I used Hoods Galore in Progress Road, off the A127 just west of Southend, a new plastic screen was about £175 I think including fitting, but the insurance paid all but £50 excess.
