Anyone had a Cardiac/Catheter Ablation?
Discussion
Had mine yesterday, now laying in bed for two days to recover.
How did yours go? How was your arrhythmia before and after? Did it go straight away or does it gradually stop as (presumably) the scar tissue formed?
How long before you did stuff (exercise, exciting things, things that could bruise you?) and what did you do? How long did they leave you on Warfarin?

Hi mate, I had a catheter ablation for Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome a couple of years ago. It was uncomfortable to say the least for a few days, but i was back at work after a week - bruising took a while to heal though. How did yours go? How was your arrhythmia before and after? My symptoms were very intermittent anyway so didn't really notice any difference before or after, but touch wood, I have had no further problems - was not prescribed any drugs for the condition before or after.
My understanding is that the ablation should resolve things straightaway - part of my procedure was to try and kick start the heart into an SVT/AF (never really go to the bottom of which I had!) to make sure it had worked.
The good news is that ablation does have a very high success rate (around 95% I think)!
I think it was about a month before I felt 'right' enough to start exercise etc. but you will know when you feel up to it.
