Removing Alternator
Discussion
I'm just about to remover the alternator from my 4.5
Do the throttle bodies have to come off to pull it out of will it go out the from where the air con pump is?
I have already removed the Air con pump from something previous.. it looks like the alternator will go through but the tensioner bracket is in the way. The bracket seems to be held in too solid so am guessing its held in place my more than two bolts.

When I've done mine,
1) I've released the alternator from the bracket
2) Released the bracket from the engine
3) Wiggled the bracket from underneath the alternator and out the front of the engine
4) Alternator twisted, wiggled & slowly out it come the front of the engine.
Its tight but possible

No not a chance! I can't even move the alternator enough to get to the second pair of bolts holding the bracket in place. I am guessing I got a different Alternator casing to you Ian.
Whats involved in taking the throttle body off? Is it just the 6 allen bolts and the linkage? Are are there 'O' rings between the bodies and block? If there are I might as well replace all eight while i am here.
