Bloody windscreen washer pipe!!!
Discussion
Hello all. I cannot seem to get the windscreen washer pipe to sit in a place where it doesn't get ripped to bits by the wiper... Only happens on the left hand side fortunately which means I can still see. Has anyone else had this annoying issue? If so what are your solutions please??!
Make sure the hard plastic tube sits inside the spring and where it joins the rubber pipe otherwise it will melt. There's a lot of heat from the manifold on the passenger side. The soft tube needs enough slack for the wiper to move. It's probably melted before and someone has cut it too short.
Better solution ..Buy the Leven spray system and get rid of the plastic pipe with holes in it.
PS Assuming it is like my convertible

Silicone tube rather then the rubber stuff is a bit more flexible and doesn't harden/melt as easily.
I had the same issue, and read the same advice re the various upgrade options. I looked at replacing the rubber with silicone for all the reasons noted above. But the sheer hassle of changing the tubing put me off.So...
I bought some silicone windscreen washer hose from Halfords.
Cut about a finger length of hose.
Slit it along the length.
Clipped the new length of "reinforcing" hose over the loop of hose as it tucks under the bonnet.
Made sure it's rotated so that the solid edge faces the bonnet.
Sealed the ends with black tape.
(If you're feeling ambitious you can maybe wrap the tape around the length of hose, but that was far too footery for my fat fingers.)
Good luck.
Neil.
