What Trolley Jack?

Now I have her in a garage for the winter its time to do a few jobs underneath.

Im looking for a trolley jack that is low enough to get underneath and reach the jacking point (less than 125mm) but goes high enough to get some good height on the axle stands (500mm) so I can work comfortably.

From trawling the net, this is the best I have found so far for around the £100 mark:

I read a while back that someone else with a Cerb used this model so I guess it can get under to the central jack point at the front?

I have also looked at the Arcam 3T ones but at 47kg I think its going to be a nightmare in the space I have. This is my garage space:

Yeah they are nice and low and about 10kg lighter that the one I mentioned they but dont have the same lift, the 2.5T one does go quite high at 465mm (against 520mm above) but its also £155

I'm getting the Clarke one for my birthday tomorrow from the girlfriend. Should be easier to use then my big jack for the smaller tasks as my big jack is very heavy but is a low entry one too, but man enough to lift my jeep high.

I have read a few conflicting stories about the Clarke not lasting past a year. But then heard lots of good stories. I only went for the 1.25 tonne one which as I said should be good enough for most of the small jobs on the cerb. Had a vat free shopping email from machinemart so made it cheaper too.

I have the Arcan trolley jack. Great jack and fits under the Tuscan no problem.

Peter your gf is well trained with her gifts! I like it.

The SIP 2.5T racing ones also look like nice jacks but again are around the £150 mark which is a bit more than I wanted to pay and they lift to about 460mmm which should be just about enough. They are also 25-26 kg which is a good weight.

Yeah the Arcan 3T looks very solid but its a beast at 47kg, I can see that being a bit of a problem to work with.

It's a great jack. But is very heavy, very well made.

I stand it up against the wall when not in use.

The problem with the Arcan ali one is they used to be £80 odd in Costco, and seeing them on ebay for £140 is a bit cheeky, its hard to pay that much more knowing that.
I also read a guy managed to slightly bend the arm on his but who knows, he may have been overloading his. They do look as good as the SIP/Clarke racing models in fairness.

I have the Arcan ali one - I think better than other ali jacks as it has proper wheels at the front, rather than the roller. Makes it more stable. I've had no issues with mine at all.

I do have a big Sealey Jack as well that gets the car up really high, but it doesn't go directly under the car - I have to give it a little lift with the other one first.

They had a pallet full of Arcan 1.8t alloy jacks at Costco, Chester today.... £80 odd plus vat
