Hi All,

This arrived just over a week ago. Delighted with it. Yes yes, hairdressers car with the wrong engine.

Bumped into grandad on our travels today...

Needs a wash.

Hope you like.

I think they look great and the engine is supposed to be surprisingly quick considering how economical it is.

Didn't know they put it in the SLK though.

That looks pretty nice!

Are they really calling them "AMG Sport"?

Mmm yes - a bit like BMW M Sports - more a spec level than anything else. Big wheels, nicer seats etc. etc. Nothing changes performance wise other than sportier suspension.

Is that one on one of those stupidly cheap lease deals - £250pcm or somecuch?

Not a car i'd 'aspire' to, in the respect that id probably never, ever consider it - but for what it costs, its a very good looking and capable car IMO. Definitely a nicer way to commute than a humdrum 3 series or A4.

Enjoy!
Yeah, was silly money for what it is really.

That's exactly why I got it. I do a lot of zipping round London. It's pretty quick for what it is and the economy on it compared to my old 330i is just amazing really. It's got a nice stereo, comfy seats, looks good, top comes off in summer (oh er). Just made sense for me really.

What made you get shot of the 330i?

I remember way back when you persuading me to get a 330i. Still have mine. Getting itchy, mind.

I tend to agree. They could have called it just a sport or something. Audi have the S-Line, BMW have M sport and now Mxxx. Its all marketing.

Don't worry, I wasn't under any illlusion that its a proper AMG.

No offence meant though OP. I guess I'm just one of those stubborn old fashioned petrolhead who thinks that when a performance badge is slapped on a car it has to perform! Audi in context still kept the "RS" badge pretty unique to it's high performance models. BMW however has started to let the "M" badge slip to non-M models but I guess Mercedes is worse by slapping "AMG" badge in almost every model. If I am not mistaken there's even a "Blue Efficiency AMG" model...

Still a very nice car though - I've test driven a 2012 SL55AMG and very impressed with overall quality and toys. Performance & handling is not bad too wink

Nice car OP.

To be fair, people want/need a different sort of car nowadays. All show and eco, no go!

Still got it at the minute, but it will go soon enough. Lovely car, but just a bit too thirsty around London and not getting anywhere nearest potential out of it.

Mainly though, I got the itch, and this is my last chance at having a two seater before kids come along.

I will miss that lovely straight six though...

Just looked at the title of this thread and just realised that I've missed out the SLK and typo'd Mercedes.

What a div.

How do I edit?

Nice car op, congratulations. A friend has just bought one (250 cdi) quite a nice car and shifts quite well 205 bhp 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds.
