I'm sure all you clever PH lot know all about testicles..... I thought I did too.

My 11 year old son came home with aching nuts the other week, long and short of it, he was rushed into surgery and I was told that because of the 5 hour wait in A&E he might lose one.

Twisted testicles are, apparently, quite common in boys who engage in rough and tumble sports etc. if twisted, there is an eight hour surgical window, otherwise it can be lost.

I just thought I'd post this up in case, in the future, your lad comes home with a severe ache..... Don't ignore it, it could be twisted.

It this post saves one nut - it was worth it. smile

A lesson to the not-boys-any-longer too. Boxer shorts are useless at supporting your gentleman's department, however much your partner thinks you look nice in them. The trend of tighter boxer briefs are better for support, but its not for nothing that some rugby players wear either compression shorts (please don't wear them baggy) or the good old jockstrap. Yes, they make girls giggle and look ridiculous (I blame porn videos, not that I'd ever watch one, ahem) but take care of your bks!

With younger lads, wearing their school speedo style swimming trunks is probably a good compromise. Unlike a jockstrap or tight lycra shorts, they are used to wearing them and shouldn't be uncomfortable with them around other lads.

Hope the fella makes a full and quick recovery!
