For an e46 M3. I have Michelin on at the mo (not checked sizes yet).
Thinking of P Zero Run-flats.

Bizarre.

The rear tyre size is 255/35/19.

What is your aim in fitting runflats?

Fair enough for replying so honestly, but...

It's a frigging M car!

M cars are not supplied with RFT's! They may be what, £8-15k now, but if your intention is to run it under a budget then at least look at some moderately decent rubber. Do you have kids?

Vredstein get a good name, apparently, and don't cost the earth. I fully understand the need for longevity but in an M3, if driven as intended, you may also wish for some lateral adhesion as well as traction and possibly also braking ability. That said, if you purely intend to use your car as a boulevard cruiser, then damn you to hell and may you suffer terminal VANOS woes!

Better?

Man, please yourself.

You asked an honest question on a forum where there are some pretty knowledgeable and experienced M owners. The car you have has RFT's on the front? If you are looking at replacing the rears and it won't break the bank then replace all four with afore-said Vreds. Yeah, it's nearly 25/12 but if you're asking the question, then I have to assume you're prepared to part with the readies. Non?

Can't think for the life of me why anyone would switch an E46 M3 from conventional tyres to run-flats and to mix run-flats and conventional tyres makes even less sense! One day run-flats may become the norm but at the moment all they do is compromise chassis performance (which is why none of the M-cars are fitted with them). To add insult to injury they also cost more to buy than even a premium conventional tyre so the logic of switching to them really does defeat me!

I ran Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas on my M3 CS and they were very good; an earlier post suggested ditching your existing rubber for a set of those and you could do a lot worse. Certainly a much better idea than fitting more run-flats; no, no, no!!

Run flats are also prone to side wall damage/failure on low profile M3 rims, especially after spirited driving.

the car came with 2x odd fronts, one very new rf pirelli and a very low conti non-rf, i matched up the front with another rf.
both rears are due, so i guess they will wear quicker so normal tyre is ok..?
