BTW its not the rear subframe that's a problem, its the floor that actually cracks. Just so happens its at the mounting points where the subframe bolts to it.

Bit of a daft thread IMO, every single car has problems which need dealing with. It's called running costs...

Nothing on that list has gone wrong with mine, or any of my previous M3's. I have had the sat nav unit replaced twice under warranty and an ABS sensor. Probably time for the arse to fall out of it big style! winkhehe

Nothing on mine in the 3,000 miles I've had it but I really need to fix the annoying rattle coming from the rear seats.

Yeah it's a high pitched one, goes off over the smallest bumps, on the motorway etc. It's definitely in the cabin somewhere, I just need to put someone in the back seats during a drive to try and isolate it. It's a really small thing but the car would be faultless if I could fix it!

Errrrrrr are we discussing the E30, E36, E46 or E9X model here? A 1987 E30 might have suffered from a few more failures than a 2012 E92!

RTABs only for me. Nothing else was a problem during the 30,000 miles that I did in mine.

LOL,

I also forgot headlight adjustment link thing-a-mabob.
Broken thing for the boot release. Plastic around the screws had snapped (weird one)
Oh and a really badly grinding diff, was fixed with oil the 2nd time round. 1st batch of oil made it worse!!!! BMW stuff cured it.

To be honest, most were quick and cheap-ish fixes.

Subframe was covered under goodwill.

Vanos solenoid was £100 for the part, + lots of farting around getting it diagnosed which prob cost another few hundred.

Lock motor was another £100 and a day messing around.

Wishbones £350 or so i think.

Springs £350 was done when subframe was off.

Diff oil £130 or so.

So, its not THAT bad, but its not nothing either, i thought it would have been 100% reliable like my old Jap turbo cars. Oh well!

There is worse than me, diffs and engines etc etc
