Alfa 159Ti 2.0Jtdm
Discussion
just thought I would gauge the advise of those far more knowledgable than me.
One of the branches of my company are disposing of their company cars. The list is
very boring, however, I noticed there is a 2010 Alfa 159Ti 2.0 Jtdm saloon. The car
has done 34,500 miles, finished in Alfa Red with leather and Alcantara interior. I am
thinking of getting this to replace my Audi A4 1.9tdi, especially as its offered at a very
good price (less than £8500)
What is your thoughts on this guys, but more importantly, what is the reliability like of
these cars? I will be doing 50 miles a day (so the DPF will have regular regeneration)
using motorways, so good fuel consumption and reliability are important.
Thanks for your thoughts folks.

I have a friend with one of these. Good solid car, although still prone to small irritating failures, but not much more than any other car I guess.
MPG hasn't been the best, but he does drive it very hard. But even when driven gently apparently not returned brilliant figures. But it is a performance car, not an eco-special
Biggest issue has been tyres - they seem to wear out within 10k miles on the front. You can have them realigned to reduce this wear, but the 19" wheels on the Ti = expensive for branded tyres (ie over £200/corner). There are cheaper alternatives, but opinion seems very divided on those...
Sounds a good buy and if I were you as long as it has good SH, decent tyres etc then why not?

..Well, deposit placed and having it in a few weeks. I have joined 'Alfa Owner' and
have had a good read on all the things to look out for.
It seams the biggest complaint is about how easy the red paint chips, this car doesnt
look to bad, but I will be keeping an eye on the paint work.
I may even have the bumper and front edge of the bonnet treated with anti-stone chip film
as the car will be done a few motorway miles every day.
I will post pictures when I get it.

When you expecting?
....I had the Alfa just before Christmas. The car is great and ticks all the boxes. If I had to
say something negitive, it would be the fuel consumption is not a good as I was expecting. My trip
to and from work is 90% motorway and in the rush hour, its a 60/65mph cruise, best MPG i can get
is just under 50....the Audi was giving me over 60mpg over the same trip.
I will post a few pictures the next time I give it a good wash.

Yep great car my 159 tdi always hovers about 44 doesn't matter if I go 65 or 75. My car just done 100k no real problems bar the wing mirror don't always fold back and I have 1 parking sensors that is temperamental and cost a fortune to replace. I am so tempted to chip and get rid of the dpf filter fo, more power and better mpg!
