Help please - BMW advice.

A friend of mine has just sold his LCR and is looking for some RWD fun, cheap and cheerful. Could you give us some advice between these two ebay links?

Although i know a 328 would be the choice, the insurance company are saying he cant go above 2.0l

For me it would be a no-brainer. The second one, less miles, quite possibly on original paintwork, no mention of a respray.

I know this isn't what you want to hear but I would be trying really hard to find someone who'd insure me on the 328i.

The 318is (assuming it's a real one) is a lovely handler, rated as the sweet spot among the smaller E36s. That one could be an excellent car that's had a selection of the standard upgrades thrown at many loved/enjoyed e36s... or a bit of a dog. Doesn't scream chav from the outside though, so the chances are good I reckon.

I'd still want the 328 though
