I am looking at an "S" reg Chimaera 4.5 tomorrow. I have owned a Chimaera before but still think that it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it checked over by someone who knows what they are looking for (me being not particularly mechanically minded).

I have seen mention of [Rob] Inglebey - does anyone have his contact deatils / know what area he covers (the car is in Kent)?

Go to www.findasportscar.co.uk

I used when I bought my Chimaera. He covers the whole country with an inspection plus mileage based cost.
Did a very good job for me.

I used Philip Reyegate of www.rhinomotorsport . Did a comprehensive inspection and report. He's also based in Surry. Will give you ammunition to haggle the price!

He's a TVR nut and used to prepare racing TVR's for customers.

I would recommend without hesitation.

Happy hunting,

Steve.

ps I've had my new 94 Chim for a couple of months now and no problems at all!!

Another thumbs up for Rob Ingleby.
I found my 99V Chim in January 2003 and asked him to give it the once over.
He travelled all the way to Cheltenham in the snow, spent hours going over the car and wrote me a comprehensive report with photos.
I bought the car on his thumbs-up, have driven around 7,000 miles including to the South of France and back, and enjoyed some wonderful trouble free motoring.
Would I use him for my next car??
