Thinking of SORNing my M car for a few months (as both machines have insurance and tax in nov/dec) but maybe longer.

What happens with the sorn process i.e timescales, unsorning etc.

Am i correct in saying that the insurance no claims bonus are valid for up to 2 yrs?

You will get a SORN reminder in 12 months.

NCBs are up to the discretion of company how long it stays valid for.smile

You can un sorn at any time, just take all docs to the post office or online etc.

When you want to put it back on the road you just tax it as normal, so will need to have a
valid MOT and insurance.

As of when?

I had to renew a SORN at the end of September this year, so that must be a very recent change of which I wasn't aware.

Ta for the link.

They're proposals, yet to be enacted, so you will be right in due course by the look of it.

You can, you just tax as per normal in May, with your insurance and MOT, and you're back on the road.

It's not rocket science. wink

Use your cars - they like it!

SORN doesn't prevent the biggest costs of all - ageing parts and depreciation.
