So I want a printed photo album for Mrs Trumpy this Christmas

I want to get Mrs Trumpy a printed photo album for Christmas with some kiddy photos in (yes, boring!) most of my photos are in iPhoto so I know Apple do one but I'd need to upgrade to the latest iPhoto which costs £11. Any recommendations? a quick search threw up photobox and a few similar companies

I have no idea why you need iPhoto to make an album but you'll find several photobook suppliers on my website. Blurb and Photobox are often rated well here.

I've used both and been happy with them. I think the Blurb software is better and has more flexibility for layout.

There is a photo book module in Lightroom 4 but not plyed with it yet.

i've just received one of the new photobox lay flat A4 books.

expensive but Fantastic. i did one on our recent india and nepal trip. The pages are thick like board pages and they lay flat so you don't loose detail in the spine if you have full two page spreads.

Worth it
