I've been thinking what I would do if my exhaust blew. There are plenty of fabricators here in Hong Kong that could
make something work, but what of the wonderful throaty sound? How can I preserve that burble without shipping out
an expensive original exhaust system?
If my car lost its V8 roar I'd be gutted. it's the thing that first got me hooked on the whole TVR experience. Long may
my original exhaust last !

I wouldn't worry about it - the original pipes last for ages and even then there is nothing unique about them. Chances are if the exhaust were to "blow" it'd be the rear box that goes first (or a cat) and then you can just remove the offending item and replace it with some exhaust pipe...

Cherry bombs (or similar) will replace the rear box, you could either fit a "sports cat" or just straight through pipe 9depends how vigorous your "MOT" testers are out there).

TBH even shipping something over from the UK won't be ridiculously expensive, I buy stuff from HK all the time and shipping is cheap, I assume those same planes have to fly out there too.....

Within reason it should always sound like that. Short of whacking some huge track day silencers on it's never going to lose the V8 rumble, particularly.

Ok great. I dun need to worry about it while I own the car as she's only done 4k in last 2yrs so more many other things that will wear out before the exhaust.
I don't hear many modern V8 s with the same rumble , until the nuts are revved off them of course M

Ferarris sound like ripping calico or velcro. Not nice. Astons are better.

Yep agree, was at Snetts for the charity ride day couple of weekends back, the Fezzas sounded luverly hoofing it up the pit straight, but the Vanquish.... simply Epic cloud9

That's because Ferrari V8's are flat crank.. In theory they should sound like Cerbera's.
