Its not that the bike uses more fuel than the average bike, its just more to do with the size of the tank on these,i sold a brand new gsxr600 to get this, gsxr got around 120 before low fuel light came on,the Honda is around the 95-100 mile mark. But it's fun in between the fill-ups which is the main thing,we don't buy sport-bikes to save the planet and save fuel:-)

Great bikes - quick question for you - when I was loaned an SP1 in 2000 for a weekend I seem to recall that didn't get more than 70 miles out of a tank of petrol before I needed to fill up.
I think it's a Honda thing, combination of small tank/high fuel consumption - I had a VTR100 only did about 60 - 70 miles before the 'light' came on, not much in reserve either. In contrast my 916 will do 110 - 120 miles before going to reserve and there's still a reasonable amount of fuel left then.

Ok,anyone else want to roll up and put people off buying my bike lol
Not at all mate, SP1 is a top bike & like you said "we don't buy sport-bikes to save the planet and save fuel" and anyway all the 'environmental' tax we pay on fuel will save the planet... err, probably

ps; Petrol is one of my biggest expenditures, I reckon I spend about £8k a year on the damn stuff!

pps someone needs to buy this bike now!
