Like an R-Strap but not an R-Strap

I think I'd quite like an R-Strap but I don't like the way the camera hangs upside down or the fact it takes up the tripod mounting hole. I guess what I actually want is something like an R-Strap which holds the camera upright and uses the strap-loops. I'd also like to be able to wear it conventionally (i.e. round the neck) too from time to time which I don't think you can with an R-Strap either.

Does anybody make what I want?

Optech make a harness which connects to the strap loops through their interchangeable connectors, you could use the same connectors to connect to their pro strap.
