With oil prices dropping and some predicting $85 a barrel for Brent by mid 2013, are petrol prices finally dropping?

I did a search and found lot about petrol going up, but none about it going down.
So started this!

I filled up at the Esso on the Hogs Back A31 in Surrey this morning.
Supreme 97 £140.9.
Last time I filled up there just over a month ago, it was 5p dearer!

I saw a TV ad for Sainsbury with 10p a litre off if you spend £60 in store.

Don't all go out and buy V8s just yet, but what's happening where you are?

A little but quite a variance between towns, maybe around 5 pence cheaper in some areas

I've noticed a 5p drop over the last couple of months. I pay £1.34.9 for Shell unleaded here in Surrey, £1.42.9 for V-power.

Local Esso is 131.9p for unleaded. Still too much. I want it to fall to pre 2000 levels biggrin

You know when petrol is expensive when you think £1.31 per litre is cheap hehe

Actually it IS cheap, if you correct for inflation.

131.9 at the ASDA in Colchester. 135.9 in S Herts

While driving in Europe, typically in Germany I was paying 1.52Euro which is equivalent to 1.23 (that was for Regular Unleaded E10). Highest prices I saw were 1.88Euro in Holland (equiv to 1.46).

They will never drop enough - far too much tax.

I use Tesco 99, their prices purely depends on how much stock they have. As it gets lower the price creeps back up again. s.

131.9 for petrol, 137.9 for diesel here. And I've just swapped my 1.4 68bhp diesel for a 2.0 163bhp one , got to take advantage of the price drop biggrin

It should not be an increase planned, it should be a reduction in tax!

Prices on basic unleaded have come down in Aldershot (Hants) but that has more to do with the newly opened Morrisons just opposite Tesco and both seem to be knocking the price of unleaded down by about 3-4p to see if they can gain business off the other.

Drive a couple of miles down the road and prices are back to the normal 135.9 everywhere else.

My local Shell dropped the diesel to 138.9 last week.

It's now back up to 140.9 today.

I filled up with Tesco's 99RON earlier at around £1.37/litre - still seems the complete rip off it always has been to me?
