Hi guys,

Tonight the head gasket failed on my Fiesta ST (Steam coming from near the exhaust manifold and milky residue on the oil filler cap), I'm hoping that it'll be covered under my extended warrantly with GK Group who I bought the car from back in February, but if they blow me off how much will I be looking at to get this sorted??

Ta.

Depends how bad it is... I mean it sounds pretty bad. You might have to get the head skimmed which is not massive money, but then you might have done more engine damage. Only way to tell is to get it checked out first.

Being a ST i cannot imagine it has gone before so will be fine skimming.

Was there no other signs before it went? or was you giving it deather and it just went bang?

Oil on the filler cap is not only the sign of HG, but also of a car doing short journeys. Are you sure its the head gasket, as if thats the case of creamy cap, you maybe getting symptoms of high expansion pressure, bubbling and milky water in there too. Is there a hose nearby which maybe leaking?
