Estate/Smaller 4x4 Cars with 'side opening' rear doors
Discussion
Someone asked me about this today and I ran out of ideas pretty quickly.
They have a few dogs and a side-opening door is easier than the usual 'up' door when you don't want your dogs running 6 different ways - apparently
Only cars I could think of with side-opening doors are the RAV4 and Discovery - possibly some Shoguns?
I'm sure you lot will know of more tho!?

The Fiat Doblo can be had with a single lift up tailgate or asymmetrically split side opening tailgates. They also have opening boot side windows so the mutts can breathe properly and you can hose them out. I have one for carting my lab about and it's ideal and does 50mpg.
Aha - a practical AND cheap option - nice oneI guess the split doors are quite rare tho - most seem to have the 'up' door...
+1 for the earlier honda crvs. I had one and the side opening spilt hatch is a god send with dogs. Can open the glass top half , put their leads on and then open the bottom half to get them out without having them fly out into a road etc.
nothing to do with training. All dogs get excited about wallows. If yours doesn't then it's either too old to be bothered, a boring sod or you trained the life out of it...

dog training
I you've trained dogs to sit quietly and not react when driven to the beach/field/park - you've been training them too much I reckon
I carry mine in an MX-5 but our family have Jack Russells
