Alfie Boe - who's car was it?

As Alfie had worked at TVR, the BBC contacted the TVRCC to find someone who would allow them to film their car and let them use it in the film, I obliged...
The filming took place around May of this year...they only wanted one car but I took two...Ginny and George (our son)were in the Chimaera and I was on my own in the Cerbera....I cleaned the cars got them spotless...then the day dawned ...throwing it down with rain..(like much of the summer!)
We drove from Nuneaton to a little village in the Cotswolds, the cars were filthy when we got there, so we cleaned them by borrowing a bucket and some water from a local coffee shop...!
The filming lasted a couple of hours prior to this we met Alfie and his manager...Alfie was a very nice bloke, he sat in my Chimaera and appeared genuinely interested, which was nice, he was really nice with Ginny and George as was Fern she was so funny ...we did quite a few runs and shots to camera...at one point they even fixed a camera to the windscreen ....all of the footage was obviously not used
Fern was very natural and easy going...even did things like make sure that the seatbelt was inside the car before closing the door...showed respect for the car....she was very professional and was word perfect as she was practicing her lines...
The crew asked us to not go public on this until it went out on air, which is what I thought was only right and proper to do.
I haven't got a copy of the film or anything...but what memories my son has are priceless, he hasn't done bad this year, meeting Fern and Alfie plus being the youngest kid to have a ride in the Speed 12!
Thing is he reckons Alfie is his mate now...and has started to try and sing opera...not sure where this will end

I use the following:
a) Maguiars NXT Generation Tech Car Wax @ £19 for a 532ml bottle
b) Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine Car Polish (Most suited to dark colours) @ £20 for 1 litre bottle.
The shine on my car is also helped by the fact that I never drive it in bad weather and it is waxed twice every week going over the entire vehicle twice. Not an extortionate amount for the wax made up by the fact I wax it so often.

Thanks Simon. Whew. Twice a week! Now there's jolly TVR enthusiasm. Last time I Simonized once a month, was my Dad's Wolsley 6/80. Stopped when the undercoat started to show through. Trust your Blackpool water based? finish is much, much more durable. As durable as Fern Brittan!I use the following:

Yes, I heard that, was a good interview! He mentioned being at the factory. On his wikipedia page it says:
"At the age of 17, Boe became an apprentice mechanic at the TVR factory in Bispham, Blackpool. He enjoyed entertaining his colleagues by singing opera arias while he polished the cars, and one day was overheard by a client with connections in the music industry who was so impressed, he suggested Boe should go to London and audition for the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. His audition was a success and he gave up polishing cars to embark on a singing career. Boe has never been able to trace the customer who suggested he go for the audition, having lost the man's business card."
Wonder if this is still true, surely between everyone here someone must know who that customer that started his career was?!
