Wet mirrors - poor visibility
Discussion
This morning I saw a motorcyclist on his back on the road. A man standing over him held an umbrella to keep the rain off. He had come off about 10-15 cars in front of me on the A41 and one would assume that someone had changed lanes without giving enough consideration to the rider, however I didn’t see it happen so I can’t be sure that this was the reason for the accident.
One thing I can be sure of is that at the moment the rain on wing mirrors when you are stationary or moving slowly makes identifying a bike headlight very difficult amongst the raindrops so this is a Monday morning request: please have a really good look before indicating to change lanes.
I really hope the guy is okay because dying on the A41 due to someone not taking the 3 seconds or so to have a good look in their mirror would be really f
king terrible.
If anyone did see it this morning and does know what happened please feel free to correct me.

I was behind a Merc for about 2 miles until I reached my house the other day that still had his folding wing mirrors folded in! Couldn't quite believe it. The direction he came from also has no form human life for a good 3 miles, so god knows how long the plank was driving like it for.
