Hi all,

I spotted this Lambo in Portsmouth whilst out and about...

Never seen one before. Can anyone shed any light on it...?

Looks like one of the better kitcar replicas, telltales are the sunroof & side skirt, will try & work out which one.

I must admit, it caught me by surprise and I had to go and have a closer look to make sure it wasn't gen!? Haha.
I wonder what it's worth and what plans the owner has for it...?
I'll keep my eye on it and report back.

The glass in the doors is the first give away, it's flat. Real ones are curved.

Peter Filby raved about one model for accuracy but it had the flat door glass. Call me cynical but did he have a financial interest in the kit.

I no longer have my archive of magazines as they went to a new home (Steve Hole of TKC took the lot) earlier this year.

Is that a tree growing out of a beach buggy at the end of his drive?

as far as i know prova were the ones to do the koenig stlye side skirt so would go with that at a guess, would know better to see chassis
mk2 mirage come with curved glass, better roofline and screen

It's up on bricks so you can't tell if the roofline is right. If the highest point on the car is the top of the windscreen (i.e. correct) then that starts to limit the options as a lot had the saggy roof.

Sunroof tells you nothing as i know a few who have retro-fitted them.

side skirts, DC do the Koenig ones, so again tells you nothing sadly as they may have retrofitted them? But they do hint towards this being a Mirage..

I'd say that you'd need to see the chassis and a bit more the body detail to be sure

This is all very interesting! Thanks chaps. Think this kit is just as rare as the real deal having only ever seen one real Countach!!!

It would be great to see this one up together. I wonder what engine it would take? It'd have to be something noisy to pull it off right!? scratchchin

Just found your Countach thread Dave... Looking good! yes

the roof line should have a slight curve in it and that is flat as a pancake so looks like it is an older car, DC have only ever produce the Mk2 version.
the keonig skirts that dc use are taken off the prova ones and modded to fit, i bought the chassis 12 years ago that the body came off the had them on.
