PB Wednesday is the first wednesday of every month, where a personal best should be attempted. This personal best can come in any form:

  • New 1RM lift
  • New xRM lift
  • Fastest time (Run, cycle, swim etc)
  • Highest, longest attempt (i.e. box jump, vertical jump)
  • Most reps (i.e. in a timed AMRAP a la crossfit)
I might have missed some options out, but basically your PB can come in any form.

Just to avoid confusion, I think you should include in your post at least DATE, EXERCISE, YOUR PREVIOUS PB (i.e. weight, time etc), AND YOUR NEW PB

Vids photos etc would be a welcome addition, not that it needs to be varified.

I guess it doesn't need to be a Wednesday.....just a place to post PB's (I usually have Wednesday off also. I also intend to get a squat PB tomorrow too....)

I guess it doesn't need to be on a wednesday, no, but I like the idea of having a set day as although I have set many PBs over the years on random days, having a PB day is just something to work for, a day to peak at etc - hence the idea of the thread. No one will tell you off for posting a PB from a Tuesday though!

I'm liking this, should be a good mixture from everyone's variation of training as well.

Can we have a sub-category for most silly or weird 'lift' - mine was a 'fail' today, if still a PB, aimed for 100 but got 84 non stop OH presses with a 37lb Bulgarian bag using the long straps to drop it behind the back to hip height then drag/press it up the back until it clears then 'throw' it up until straps hit full length, catch and repeat.

I'm guessing that's on an Olympic bar, so what hand spacing do you use - wide or narrow(er) grip?

That's pretty impressive!

Mine was 50kg in each hand dumbell shrugs today, it would be more except for my girly grip. I made it for 2 sets of 10 and then the final set of 5 before I had to put it down as my grip had completely gone.

I can shrug with the bar and straps pretty easily well above that weight but I'm determined to trade in my girly grip for a manley one! hehe

Yes Olympic bar, Its a normal grip? When my arm is horizontal there's a 90 degree bend to my forearm. (Have I explained that right?)
Edit: tried to make it clearer smile

Had a leg injury so haven't tried, was doing 100kg log press prior to injury; I need to work on getting it from floor to shoulder - so speed deadlift training I think.
Only been training 10 months now smile
No supplements yet; was on a mass gainer and have run out (and money frown) but will be trying creatine at some point to keep the weight going up!smile

Cheers - yep that's what I'd imagined.

Bloody good going for only 10 months training.

Brilliant for that time!

I've come to the conclusion in strength terms, I'm at best, average.

Still I enjoy it and progress slowly.

I hope this counts, 18 minutes 57 seconds for 5k row on Monday and I seriously didn't have objectives today so I just had a crack at 5k quicker 18:47 therefore I think i'm in...............not the greatest claim to fame.
