1954 Ford Pop Gasser

Hi guys, I'm new on here so thought i may as well show my car before posting elsewhere.
I bought the car, or the remains of one in 2005, aged 14.
as you can see there wasn't much there for my £120, but after a few years & wasting a lot of my student loan on it, we go to this stage, complete with grey primer, chalk signwriting & no roof or windows. It was a lot of fun though!
Insurance problems meant that I would have to wait until i was 21 to drive it in anger, so it got took apart ready for paint, then given a change of rear wheels for a more period look:
ever since i turned 21 in april the car has been on the road, probably done around 2000 miles this year, and had some signwriting added to complete the 60's racer look:
Motor is just a 2.0 pinto with a worked head & fast road cam, but in a car this small thats still plenty quick enough!

chassis mods: Still using the original front beam but with disc conversion, rear is volvo 240, narrowed (a lot)
Its a hot rod so this was always gonna happen!

I need to ask some questions so i thought i may as well get a bit more involved on here.
And if you think the seats are bad, wait until you see the whitewalls i've bought for the rear!

seriously though, it'll be interesting to see what it looks like. Have you mocked it up in PS or with paper to see what it looks like?
Mine needs 2 new front tyres for the next mot, 2CV tyres are a tricky and expensive to get hold of too

I had a drive in an original, unrestored Pop a few years ago. Interesting to say the least. Sidevalve engine, crossplys and a non syncho box (3 speed IIRC) Unfortunately it belonged to an old dear and had sentimental value as it had been her husbands so she wouldn't part with it.
Please keep the thread updated, I have an interest in this sort of stuff but just not enough of it on here!

It should look good, gonna have some clearance issues though i think. There nice and wide with flat tread, almost like a cut slick...Should be fun in the wet!seriously though, it'll be interesting to see what it looks like. Have you mocked it up in PS or with paper to see what it looks like?
