Just been looking at this.

Tempted to trade my Elise for it, but worried about a stepp hike in running costs

Don't know that specific car but have looked at a similar one (not as expensive), yellow cerbs look a lot better in the flesh than on photos - that is one good looking vehicle irked

Go for it - even broken down at the side of the road you'll look cool in a cerb ( so long as its not on fire....) whistle

(Btw have to say you've picked the TVR model furthest removed from an Elise - how does the driving experience compare?)

i went from an elise to a 4.2 cerb.

your right, they cost considerably more than the elise to run,
but its a lot more of a car and the noise is worth every penny!!

also the elise is really cheap to run, so magnifies the change even more.

only thing i would say, is the elise is far better handling, if you like throwing it around the twisties, but the general driving experience from the tvr balances things out

Pretty sure this car belonged to a PHer as I'm sure he posted about selling it to this dealer. From what I remember the car had been well looked after but sure someone will be along shortly to confirm.

It will cost more than your Elise to run - bit of a different animal!

Mike, did you get a Cerbera? I have an Elise now and have my heart set on a V8 Cerbera, Elise will be going nowhere though. Just wanted to her from another Lotus owner who done what I intend to...

I've kept my Exige S (in fact adding a chargecooler set up as part of the 300hp plan at the moment), and just bought a cerbera... really wanted a v8 again. Also I may have a family at the end of the year/early next, so the cerb is my way of having a fun car that's family friendly (otherwise there's really only the 911).

Having owned a cerbera and also a child I can tell you that the cerbera is not family friendly, none of the baby seats I have owned would properly fit in the back and trying to get a baby or young child in and out would not be fun and mum will not fit in the back if you put baby in front.

I have a 911 too and even 996 and 997 would not be perfect but lots better.

My 3 and 1 year old girls love ours. We have a pair of Jane Montecarlo R1s with impact cushions for them and they do fit. Loads of boot space too for all their crap. It's hardly a good first car, but the girls like a trip out in the Cerbera.

To count that, I had my children in the back until my daughter was 18 (shes only 5 foot tall) and my son 12
Baby seats are covered. There's a few that fit easily.

I've even had 4 adults (2 squashed in the back) in the car for a tem mile journey, but then as a short arse I do have the seat right forward.

Handling wise the cerbera is a different car to drive. The instructors at castle coombe said the best way was to treat it as a point to point car, but with a decent setup it handles pretty well. It'll never be as fast as an Elise through the corners but they get mullered on the run out of the corner just on the sheer power delivery. Plus the noise, you just find yourself enjoying the noise...

Drive a cerb and look in the mirror and you see an Elise. Your next reaction will be, that car infront is slow.

Drive an Elise and look in the mirror and you see a cerb. Your next reaction will be, I best pull over before he chews my rear off.

I ran a 997 for a while as my daily and kept the cerb inthe garage. I find the Cerb more practical with my wife and little boy than I did the 997. Lots moe space although yes it can be tight in the back if you dont have the right seats.
