Ever had "A moment"
Discussion
Definition: A tiny period of time (10-15seconds) where you have just thought, everything is good/alright/epic/content/memorable. Has to be car related.
I have had one and so has the old man.
Dad: Riding his Harley towards Bexhill as the sun set. At the same time a Spitfire flew over the lane he was travelling through. Thumping of the Harley and the Spitfire caused goosebumps
Mine: Driving my old 200sx too the Nurburgring. Arrived at the Eurotunnel, along with all my close mates and was so excited about the next few days.
I hope this makes sense, what was yours?

Had a few over the years
Convoying with a load of friends (10 cars, 20 or so people) back through some of the tunnels, after a memorable day at the Nurburgring.. everyone was of course giving it stick through the tunnels, and then when we got on the open road we all had walkie talkies - just chatting about the day, telling jokes, and generally just all loving it. A very happy memory I'll cherish for years.

The first time I took my Civic Type R out after dark with it's new straight-through exhaust. About midnight, nearly no traffic on the roads, driving with a purpose - not just a blast for the sake of it, and making excellent progress. Up and down through the gears, blipping every shift and hammering along in the VTEC zone. Windows down, cool April night's air and pops and bangs like a military rifle range.
While the EP3 is not the perfect car, it is one of the best hot hatches ever made imo. It just has the x factor, it gets under your skin like many other cars cannot, regardless of specification or figures, and I hear the same thing said about the other cars in the Type R family, they are just wonderful cars.

Riding a 1200cc bike fast, coming up to a bend. As I neared the bend two cars come towards me as one car was overtaking the other car on the bend, blind.
No way could I stop in time with the two cars coming head on towards me.
I went through the middle of them riding the central white line as the overtaking car veered to his right and off the road.
That was my moment.

A closed Yorkshire dales road in my MX5 in midsummer with fine sight lines... teh perfect combination of 5 bends.
and
My first blast in a sports car - Lotus S4 overtaking a Lotus Elan on a fine sweeping A Road.
and
The salute received from an Aston driver after playing for 15 miles (in an S5).

Bought my current car totally blind, albeit from a very reputable dealer and the only day he could deliver it from London to Leeds was when I was away, so a friend completed the deal. Got to my friends house at about 8.00pm and fired it up. Wow. Then headed out for an evening drive for a few hours taking in all the tunnels that the Leeds area had to offer to hear the engine roaring. Hairs on end time, and still thinking about it feels the same
Just built my first Cobra with a BMW 4.4 V8 and Tiptronic box. Passed the SVA first time. A day later it had been taxed and registered. T'was a sunny day and I had the day off. So I took it down the local bypass and saw that it was clear of bib.
Down to the roundabout at the bottom of the hill, did a U turn around the island, put the gearbox into sport mode and set off up the hill with the accelerator flat on the floor.
The thing took off like a scalded cat. Reached 145 mph very, very quickly and my bravado run out although the speed and revs were still rising quickly.
I lifted off .......and the gearbox slipped the the car into fifth.
If cars could talk it would have said " Pah...wimp." I had created a monster.
A genuine goosebumps moment.
Cheers,
Tony

I have no car - but in my Megane that I learnt/am learning in.
That lesson when everything clicked into place - IIRC it was around my third lesson. I was relaxed, smooth, fast and consistent.
The whole setting and circumstances leading upto it all made it perfect. The feeling of having a car move under you in perfect harmony.

Too many 'good' moments to choose, but one specific 'scary' moment comes to mind.
Barrelling into Werseifen at about 90mph when I hit the middle pedal and it just sinks into the bulkhead.
A judicious use of engine braking and rapidly puckered sphincter later, I guide it through the apex - much to the protestation of my tyres and my passenger.
My brakes eventually came back in time for Bergwerk; although I was significantly more cautious for the rest of the lap.

Despite having had many better drives, mine would have to be a short journey on some boring suburban roads in a fairly average car at 3AM in the morning
Had a clear road all the way, and having lived in the area since I was born, I knew the roads well enough to really push it.
Absolutely nailed it all the way, every gearchange perfect, every corner right on the limit. Had Sub Focus' 2009 album playing loud on the sound system, and it fit the moment perfectly.
