Driver of the Year for me is Fernando Alonso. Achieving 13+ podiums in the 3rd best car was just outstanding.

Team of the Year goes to Redbull for producing a fast and reliable car.

Car of the Year for me is a close fight between the McLaren and Redbull. Even though the McLaren was arguably faster on more occasions, it was mainly in the hands of Lewis. With JB behind the wheel, the car at times looked average. So for those reasons, taking Lewis out of the equation Id give the accolade to Redbull.

Chump of the Year is a close call between Maldonado and Grosjean. Maldonado has achieved 48 grid slot penalties this year from mister meaners. Grosjean without doubt takes this title for the amount of collisions he had during the season. A ratio above 50& and a race ban.

Your thoughts please?

Driver - Alonso by some distance. Kept pushing the car/team to far exceed its potential

Team - Red Bull

Car - For most of the season the McLaren has been one of the quickest cars, however the Red Bull was the quickest at the important parts of the season so would have to go for the RB

Chump - Martin Whitmarsh for not winning at least one championship this season, and losing one of the best drivers on the grid to a rival

Nope, I reckon you are up there for "Chump of the Year".
The word is "Misdemeanor" unless of course you refer to Mister Meaners, head of the FAI fun police

Driver - Alonso. Almost took a WDC in a very inferior car.

Team - Sauber. The car they produced and results they gained were very impressive for a team on such a small budget. They were far from perfect, but i was more surprised by them than any other team. It also helps that the management, team and drivers all seem like genuinely good people. Good luck to them in the future. Williams were also a close bet for this one, simply for the improvement since the horrendous year before. Its not easy to make big jumps forward on small budgets when the rules are so similar year on year, so i really enjoyied these smaller teams (It hurts me a bit to call Williams that..) give the big three a run for thier money now and then.

Car - Red Bull. Not as dominant as Neweys best creations, but still a great bit of kit. Every car had ups and downs this season, but the RB had more ups and less downs than the rest.

Chump - Karthikeyan. A nice guy, but far from F1 standard. Got in the way of the leaders more times than any other backmarker. In races where they both finished he never once beat his team mate (is this the case for any other driver?).

Leave this guy out of it, he's got nothing to do with Maldonado's performance this year....

Driver: Alonso, for taking what wasn't a good car to the last race and within a few points of the championship.

Team: Sauber, fairly high flying for a small team, I'm seeing Hulk's move there next year as a small step up from FI.

Car: McLaren, for being the best looking car, and one of the fastest. Stepped noses can do one.

Chump: Close run thing between Grosjean and Maldonado, for similar reasons of being fast but crashing too much. Karthikayen takes it though, for being slow in a slow car and getting in the way (except for Austin, getting in the way of Vettel and Hamilton passing him was brilliant hehe )

Driver: Alonso - by miles and miles.

Team: Red Bull, obviously.

CoTY: Gotta be the McLaren

Chump of the Year: Got to be McLaren again. Pit stop and operational cockuppery at the very least cost Hamilton the chance to fight for the title. In reality it probably cost him the championship.

They had the car and two excellent drivers, and yet both championships got away from them.

Driver: Kimi - he was the only driver to finish all 20 races this season

Team: Lotus/Sauber; both produced decent cars from the outset and they were consistent in getting decent hauls of points

Car: McLaren

Chump: can I vote for the McLaren strategists? Driver-wise there isn't much between Pastor (hot-headed but he did improve through the season) Romain (accident prone), Rosberg (seemed to languish in the mid-field apart from his one race-win and Senna (not as quick as Pastor)

I love stuff like this. Real Planet F1 comments section-level garbage.

You might as well write 'Martin Whitmarsh for RANDOM BASE-LESS ACCUSATION!'

LOVE. IT.

Car: Redbull or Mclaren, difficult call between the two.

Team: Has to be Redbull, since they won both world championships

Driver - Vettel - worthy WDC

Team - Lotus managing to motivate Kimi, get his car to finish EVERY race and put up with constantly rebuilding Grojean's car

Car - Mclaren - no pig ugly step nose and nice to look at (plus I liked the switch to Verizon brand for US GP)

Chump - Rosberg - did a great job winning his first race then just seemed to fade for most of the season with little or no fight, didn't use the win to spring board to the next level. Lets hope next year is better.

Driver: Fernando.
Team: Redbull.
Car: lotus, took Kimi to the checker every race, also the prettiest.
Chump: Marussia, Glock was a shoe in for the title if only they had made the car better.
