Hi guys I am currently looking at renewals for the insurance on my 2.0 TDI Golf I've had my renewal come through no different to last year. However just been doing the usual comparsion sites and got much better quotes the best being for Hastings so I tried their website and it came back as unable to quote I've entered all the same details including a claim for my brother who is a named driver.

My question is why would they be able to quote through the comparsion sites and not thier own?

Comparison sites some ask too many or too little questions for insurers to give an accurate quote.
There's a T+C on a comparison site saying you need to contact the insurer to see if the quote is valid as it may be inaccurate (or words to the affect)

If you have entered all the info given on the comparrison site correctly and been given a quote you are happy with then buy it.Its not your fault if the comparrison site has missed something.

Also different comparrison sites can come up with different quotes from the same insurers so it is best to try them all and then pick the cheapest.

OP do not listen to this information it is incorrect.

Ignorance is not an excuse, if you bought the policy you are agreeing to the information on the quote being correct which it isn't.
As per my previous post comparison sites state that the quotes may not be accurate and that you must contact the insurer if you have any doubts.
