We currently have a fox that likes to spend alot of time snoozing in the bottom of our garden. I've liked having him/her around as he was causing no bother to me. That was until he decided he was going to sneak into our kitchen through the cat flap. My dog went beserk and chased the cheeky bugger away. Now I really don't want to have to shut the cat flap through the night or through the day when we are out as that defeats the object of the flap.

So, whats the best way to get rid of Mr Fox short of shooting him?

Apparently if you pee around your boundary the fox won't like it and will find elsewhere to go

An electronic cat flap ? The ones with the sensor in the collar.

Will they fit through the cat flap? I doubt it.

Get a couple of alpacas - they chase foxes away. They'll also eat your flowers and veg so you won't need to worry about gardening.

Spray diluted jeyes fluid around the garden, harmless to animals but foxes can't stand the smell! thumbup

Ha, thanks for the answers, even the silly ones! The cheeky little blighter has got cocky now, it was in this morning when my partner got home from work. It then sat at the bottom of the garden looking at the back door. The dog was going berserk but he still kept reappearing. I may try to trick him into the garage and go one on one with him with a bread knife.

Alternatively I may try the jeyes fluid first.

Get smart...

inside your house, against the cat flap, place a dog cage with the opening against the flap, ensuring easy access INTO the cage, put some dog food on a saucer, our cat flap has IN/IN+OUT/OUT options, id switch the lever to IN only, bingo, youve got yourself a fox.... ring the RSPCA to get it sent a long way away

Awesome idea!!!! Our flap doesn't have an in/out option but he's so cheeky I may be able to wait in the garage though and block the flap from the outside. He/ she is beautiful and I'd hate to have to forcefully get rid.

Just buy a fox trap and use KFC or Garlic sausage to catch him.

Once caught, drive it to an appropriate place and release him if you don't want to shoot the fecker.
