Problem with paint on alloys any suggestions
Discussion
In the process of refurb in my alloy wheels as the story goes no damage just need freshen up .
having sanded cleaned primed they have gone like crazy paving , so sanded them all back again and cleaned used diffrent supplier of primer even a filler primer and still same situation any suggestions ?
painted around 10 sets of alloys over the years along with spraying many cars and never had this problem so do we have anyone with better knoledge than myself .

I'm sure you can tell that the product you are putting on is reacting with the existing coating.
I'd guess either the paint already on alloy, or the paint you are using is "acrylic".
You need a barcoat sealer, find it on www.alloypaints.com , spray on, guess about 2-3 coats, you will visibly see it soak in and seal the alloy, then primer/paint straight over the top , DO NOT key up the barcoat sealer.

Did you use halfords high build primer (looks the same colour as the photo)
If so, I have had that stuff react like mad on me in the past. No solution other than to sand it all off and start again IME

Guess im talking to myself then.
I was listening too, but I think the OP looked, realised it wasn't the simple answer he was after and thought
ETA: it could be the paint trying to get as far away from the 3 spoke as possible

Was listening am just trying to figure out myself that painted these alloys twice myself previosly along with other wheels without using the products you listed now am not saying your wrong by any means am just trying to figure out why this time it is reacting the way it is when before never did . You got a powder coating place local to you?
Mate has recently used this lot:-

£20 a wheel to blast and powdercoat for 16's. Hardly seems worth the effort of doing yourself at that price.

Did they do a good job? Been thinking of getting some alloys refurbed and having done it by hand once, never again!Mate has recently used this lot:-
