I arranged to look at this car with, I think, the person who had owned it for16 years. I got there last Thursday and he was apologetic for selling it, for the asking price, to someone from Europe and unseen, an hour or two before I got there. He assured me it wasn't a negotiating tactic and said he preferred to wait and see if the funds cleared before we did a proper viewing.

Over the course of the summer I have looked at a few TVRs and based on a quick walk around this was the only one that looked better than the pictures.

He hasn't been in touch, so I assume he has sold it...

If the person I met was telling the truth, then someone from Europe was going to transfer £1000 non refundable deposit to a complete stranger to hold the car until they view/collect/pay the balance or what ever goes on for such overseas transactions. If they would do that for a car that hadn't sold for a few weeks and was not an obvious bargain, who knows what they would do for a good deal in the advert?

Hi All. Out of pure curiosity where did TV8 go to view the Griff 500.London
or Belfast? In other words Gumtree ad or Pistonheads ad. If Belfast, where?

Cossers. Was down with Gregg Connolly at Ballygowan y'day and he pointed out Gumtree ad to me. I immediately knew I'd seen the photos before on Pistonheads but thought maybe "seller" had a similar coloured car and was saving the bother of taking some of his own. Got suckered in and now this person has my name, email address and both home and mob nos and no car to sell! Should have engaged brain eg you don't have a Griffith for 16yrs without taking a few pics.
