Considering a change of car next year - looking at the E250 CDI.

I notice that it's 204 bhp standard - seems to respond well to remapping (240+). Do any owners have anything to say about it?

Currently drive an E92 Coupe.

They look nice.

However. I had a 12 plate E220 (same engine less HP) and I was really dissapointed. (Although it was an SE poverty spec.)
Cheap materials, no extras, and worst of all a noisy engine at any speed especially motorway speed. There's a constant drone. nono

If you're coming from an older Merc, like I did, you'll not be impressed.
I was so happy to get my old girl back!

Hmm bugger. Coming from an E92 M Sport with all the kit, 19's etc, and am worried about the interior/engine combination.

Guess I just have to go drive one.

Would be looking at a top spec AMG model with all the kit.

I agree with GTIR above. I had the older 2.2 diesel in my old E220 cdi and it was great, changed to the new 2.2 (as said same as the E250cdi you're looking at but lower tune) in a C220 cdi and hated it - lasted 6 months before the drone and vibration through the cabin and dash drove me to trade it in for a petrol E200.

To be honest if I didn't have to have a Merc I'd have a BMW.

Going from a BMW to a Merc is a step closer towards the old people's home IMO. smile

Yep, the BMW is great, but not happy about the number of expensive faults the E9X series suffers from, and already been a victim to one (car has done 28k miles)

Hoping the Merc would be more reliable, just as quick, and fun. Hoping for too much?
