W163 Trip Computer

Ok, so this is a bit random.. but just added a ML55 to my collection and it has some issues. Well actually it appears to have every ML issue. Ah well!

Anyway, one of the smaller problems but it's bugging me:

Should the Trip Computer nestled up near the rear view mirror be back-lit?

Does anyone else have 4 beeps every-time they start the car ( not Parktronic related ) from the glovebox area?
