I've got an old 40gb fat PS3 that has served me well for years but is pretty much full and I don't want to put a bigger hdd in it as it will be Sod's law it will get ylod (in the summer the fan runs pretty much constantly) so am thinking of getting a replacement.

Where's the best place to get a new one? I'm thinking that 250gb will be big enough.

Thanks

Saw an advert for Tesco 12Gb PS3 for £135.

500Gb WD Hard for £45
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-Internal-P...

Some people found it cheaper this way.

I just replaced the old 40gb hard drive with a new 640gb one. Its an easy job to do.

I dont use mine that much any more however. Havent even used it in the last 4 months or so.

Thanks for that, ordered one with an additional £10 off with a voucher code. You can upgrade the HDD so I'll stick in a 64GB SSD that I've got lying around

I'm after a slim due to the worry of ylod on my old one as in the summer the fan runs nearly constantly

I've just bought mine yesterday, a package deal 500GB Slim with Black Ops 2, GT5 Academy and Uncharted 3 (and spiderman film download) thrown in for £249 from Gamestation.

Probably get it cheaper online, but i'm impatient.

It seems so but you will need a caddy to hold the new hdd as they aren't fitted with one as standard

You need one of these to fit a HDD to the Super Slim PS3.

I had an SSD lying around but a 500GB drive is only £45 which makes this much cheaper than buying the 500GB version at £230
