Another type of Classic...
Discussion
Woke up this morning with the tune of 'Good King Wenceslas' in my head and have been humming/singing the carol all morning. Anyone else experience this 'classic' experience in the run up to Christmas? May be another tune?
Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gath'ring winter fuel
Now, there's no snow in Oxfordshire but there was a very good frost here this morning and the moon did shine very brightly last night. Off now to gather some winter fuel

Such an excellent word, 'sod'. Not offensive by today's standards and does have that warming schoolboy humour about it, similar to gusset and discombobulation.
The other Christmas Carol that brought us much humour was We Three Kings. We always sang it like this...
We three Kings, of Orient are,
One in a taxi, one in a car,
One on a scooter, beeping his hooter,
Smoking a fat cigar.
CHORUS
Oh, star of wonder
Star of might
Fill your pants with dynamite
Light the fuse and off we go ...
Around the world to Mexico.

I tend to suffer more with tunes like the Ying Tong Song appearing in my head for weeks on end.
Showing your age there Eccles
"Do not hold sleeve this way or the record will fall out".
Doh!!!!!
