Did anyone else see the Denis the menace cartoon when the wife learns to drive on the sofa with a plate, umbrella and a cushion in place of the wheel, gear stick and pedals? You need to get yourself a cushion and an umbrella!

You sold it without the steering wheel? That's just mean... and weird!

Do they have a spongy feel?

Anyone else ended up buying the same car again after they've had to sell it?
I bought a new CRX to replace the crashed one.
I bought a new mk1 MR2 to replaced the one my brother crashed.
I bought another MR2 to replace the one that rusted away.
I bought another RX7 (a standard one) to replace my first RX7 (silly 4.6 V8 project).

But I've never sold a car and bought it back. If I was to do it then chances are it'd be the Elise. Things would have to be pretty desperate for me to let it go. Congratulations.

The bit that stops you from crashing into the TV.

I sold a car once and then got it back in a swap for some racing seats.... tells you how much the car was worth!

I think I'd be quite pissed off at having to hold a 4-pint jug. It must be pretty heavy - steins aren't exactly lightweight if you've been holding them for a bit!

Suppose it depends on the speed you drank it at.

I think this has to have been the gayest thought process I've been through for a while. Apologies.

How did you get home?

Nice work. Did you ask for first dibs when you sold it? How come the new owner was happy to sell after only six months?

We made a deal beforehand.

I didn't really want to sell the Elise, and he's moving to the US in the next month or two, so just wanted a fun car that wouldn't depreciate or cost any money.

I guess it worked out as a loan with the Elise as collateral! Except if he bent it I wouldn't buy it back, and if I couldn't afford to buy it back and it had to be sold at a loss, we'd both have paid half the difference.

Worked quite well really - I suppose I was lucky to find somebody who only wanted the car for a short amount of time.

Great to be able to have an arrangement like that smile good work!

Nearest I've been is picking up a crazy cheap 2.8 A4 with the intent of shifting it on. I sold it to a colleague that same day, actually hehe but eight months later I ended up sourcing it back for my housemate. I never technically owned it again, but it was back on my drive next to my own A4!
