Have only had our 5 for a couple of months. It was far more lively around roundabouts etc than my 280 Capri has ever been in eight years of ownership. it was suggested that I get a Four Wheel Alignment check. I found http://www.blinkmotorsport.com/ a short drive from me in Cheshire.

Today I arrived for my Pre-Booked Appointment and from the word go the service was excellent. Richard took the time to show me The Hunter Hawkeye Alignment equiptment and what each part did, http://www.blinkmotorsport.com/ After the reading of the current set up I had a choice of the Mazda ''Book'' settings or one of Blinks settings. I went for their Road Warrior as it suited what we intend to use our car for.

The journey home was like being in a different car (IN A POSITIVE WAY) she handled well sat firmly on the road not skating over the top. Before and after settings below.

You sound suitably impressed!

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost? These guys are pretty local to me and would consider using them going on how pleased you are with the results.

£84.00 Inc VAT. In my opinion well worth the money. Car now seams to stick to the road and is far more ''Driveable''

Excellent, thanks for the response. It will be interesting to see how of a difference it will make. From what I read the mx5 is especially sensitive to geo settings so there potentially is great room for improvement by getting it properly set up. Will post my findings when I get it done!

Cheers

t's not so much that MX5s are more sensitive to alignment than most others, more that they are very adjustable (Camber, Castor & Toe at the front and Camber & Toe at the rear) so there is more to be gained from getting it adjusted correctly and more to go wrong when it's not right.

Sensitive or adjustable, either way, my car is knocking on 17 years old and could probably do with setting up by someone who knows what they are doing because I certainly don't! You only have to look at the original alloys to know it has played its fair share or public highway pinball to warrant a bit of tlc!!

One thing I'm sure of is that this underpowered drop top of gayness is really getting under my skin and I'm always taking the long drive home or looking for excuses to got out for a drive :-)

Just been out hooning for the last hour. Roof down- quite chilly but with the heater on not too bad at all. Modest speeds and even more modest cost (my car was a touch over a grand) and I was about as happy as could possibly be. That's really the draw of these cars!

I get the alignment done on mine every 2 years. It used to be every year but it doesn't do as many miles now. It amazing how much difference it makes every time, even when you think it doesn't really need it a tweak always makes it feel a lot better.

Thanks OP, I'd always suspected that mine needed to be -1 degree at the front and -1.5 at the back and now you've confirmed it!
