However, sideways out of the fuel station on cold damp tarmac at low revs had me thinking 'Optimism' should be deleted and replaced with 'daft'
Anyone else as daft as me???
Anyway, i decided to go with the flow and took it steady hoping the sun comes out for the drive home!!!!

Optimism. Always for a TVR! Yesterday with Gill in Griff, went to fetch my BMW back from BMW Services. (decloning the ignition remote software!!!!!!) A brand new palatial showroom and workshops. Free TV, mags coffee cakes, leather seats, yes Sir this and that etc.
I cheekily parked in an empty space near their display front row. Amazing the number of BM customers who paused, gawked and smiled, and only for the Griff. I wonder what thought's were going through their minds? Methinks, the angular Z4 looks somewhat dated in comparison with a Griff! Sorry BM.

Yep - took the T car out for a run yesterday and the roads seemed a little er "slippy"! Warmed the car at low revs as usual (well a bit tentative too to be honest at the start)then got going and really enjoyed the tail out bit!!!
Back home leave in sun for an hour and then back into the garage - nice!

Well i have just taken one of the girls in the office out for a blast too, what the hell.
Made for an interesting drive anyway, back end all over the place.
I am intent on cleaning up my chassis next year anyway so not so worried about salt, not that it will ever really stop me TBH....i hope...its such a shame just to tuck them up!!

For learning handling technique for all us Tivs. Where, how and when did you temporarily loose the back end. What gear, what rpm, speed, wet or dry road, any opposite lock correction etc. Would like to know for future safe and fast correction. Trust I'm not too nosy, just interested. Think it was last year when we had some snow in Hampshire.
I had to go out one evening and was approaching a roundabout, coming from a single to a dual carriageway road.
Was aware of grip/conditions, but in exiting roundabout & passing slower 'Doris' in N/S lane, I applied too much throttle. Back started to slide, but controllably. Remembering my skid pan teaching, I de-clutched - all 4 wheels now turning @ road speed - gentle steering lock to correct and it all came good. (Yes - did have a**e-puckering moment).
Have to say, the Ride - Drive tuition and Castle Combe skid pan exercise have definitely paid off.

I'm going from SW London to Kent to see my wedding venue on Sun with the family (not in it of course!). I'm hoping to take the Tuscan as its not been used much since behaving so well in the Italian Lakes in the late summer so I feel bad.
I've been finishing up my ClubGT membership so had a Ferrari 550 out last night and a Gallardo last week. With traction control and 4WD respectively they are probably safter but I am hoping for an uneventful trundle down the motorway and back to get everything up to temperature and then get the cover on.
I'm ready to be careful but as long as its not snowing or icy is it really going to be that bad? hasn't been so far this winter. Touch wood!
I assume just going gently that its not going to swap ends!
