£30 to reflash the power steering module in a Fiat 500, to get rid of the warning light. It turns out that the 3rd year of the 3 year warranty isn't really worth the paper its written on...

Reminds me of a Renault.

Radio died on cold weather taking the battery with it. Known problem, and as I don't really trust dealers for their efficiency I had given them their Service Bulletin with the car... Also spoke to Renault UK who after a bit of to and fro'ing confirmed the battery was under warranty at just under 3 years old.

Car was off the road a week. Mainly because they diagnosed the radio and waited for a new one. Then oh battery's dead. No st Sherlock! Rang me to say battery's covered for 2 years only... I go mildly ballistic and Renault UK sorts them out. They then have to wait 24 hours to prove battery dead according to Warranty procedure. Then order the battery that took 2 days to get to them...

I've found over the years that when dealers don't fancy the job they will decide that the diagnosis is chargeable.

The dealership is dual marque Renault/ Fiat, although they are better than the other local Fiat dealer who told my girlfriend to "Come back if its still doing it in a months time" when the car was 23 months old.

Ironically, my day job involves testing software download to ECUs, but I don't have the software for Fiat and I did make sure that it wasn't just clearing a fault code.
