Just been out for the first time since getting knocked off my bike.

Forgot just how much I love going out on my bike, shame it's taken nearly six months to sort myself out.

"Cool story bro" - just wanted to share my news!

I wasn't too bad, I've been doing spinning classes at the gym so my legs weren't too bad.

However, the freezing temperatures and fog, now that I wasn't prepared for!

I had a big crash recently. When I started riding again I kept getting flashbacks of what it's like when you go over the front of the handlebars and your (helmet covered) head makes contact with the road and how fragile your shoulder and skin is. hehe

Now I feel invincible again.

That's what put me off. I got knocked off about 4 years ago and got away with just a broken rib and cuts and bruises.

This time however I was tried to avoid the collision but couldn't. I came down hard and smacked my head heavily on my right side. I'm ok now hence me going back out but not a nice experience!

Glad you're back on your bike.

I'm getting more and more frustrated that since I broke my elbow in a very low speed fall in September I still can't straighten my left arm so the couple of goes I've had at riding the bike have been very uncomfortable indeed.

Still, I have my first physio appointment next week which will hopefully see it straight again soon :fingers crossed:

Just make sure you;re doing all the stretches and exercises the physio gives you and possibly also look for other advice too. Osteo told me most people she sees don;t make either a swift or complete recovery purely because they don;t put in the required effort. Good luck.

OP, hope your accident becomes a distant memory and your enjoyment continues thumbup

I broke both elbows in a little tumble in June and still can't fully straighten either arm but I got back on the as soon as possible and although doing a lot of Physio I'm still a few degrees off being able to lock my arms straight and the reduced use of the arms has reduced my strength in both arms which is having the biggest effect on my riding and then there's the phycological effect which is even harder to over come, just got to keep at it over the winter 'training' so I'm fit for next years race season. rotate

My elbow is still 35 degrees from straight. I was told from the beginning it would be very unlikely to ever be fully straight but only by a few degrees. The daft thing is I have full rotation of the wrist and can fully bend it, it's just so far off straight it is frustrating.

I've got full rotation back but probably about 15 degrees off straight in both arms, thought I was going to need a screw in one of them after a CT Scan but managed to avoid it.
Had a couple of months of Physio 2 days a week and it helped a lot, was back on the bike quite quickly but still a long way off my pre-accident abilities and riding in the cold really aches. frown
