I've heard and seen a few adverts about the Scottish road safety campaigns, set up by Government agencies, and decided to have a look at http://www.dontriskit.info/

It's quite impressive, IMO. Not a speed limit agenda at all.

The current "Country Roads" campaign is very much orientated towards reminding drivers of the risks associated with narrow lanes and other rural roads - of which Scotland has many - and to take care to mitigate these risks by keeping an appropriate speed for the conditions.

It would appear someone has identified that driving a bit too fast on country roads is costing us a lot of lives, and so resources are being appropriated to reducing this.

Quite refreshing in the current climate where speed limits often appear to be the main focus.

ETA: a few words that I missed out!

Good campaign imo - the kind we should see more often. Concentrate on making people think about their driving speed etc for the conditions... Something that's distinctly hand-wavy for the anti-speed folks.

I still can't help reading the word "campaign" without putting the word "propaganda" before it, but it's more balanced than those lunatics at "BRAKE" and the like. I like the tips in the biking section.
