Apologies if I've missed a post on this by anyone else.
"Big and juicy" frozen whole lobster in Waitrose this week.
Not all that big and quite tasty, but only £6.99.
Made 4 very nice fish cakes with one for tea today. two more in the freezer.

Are these the type frozen in a 'cylinder'?

I don't think these are particularly nice. Whatever liquid they're frozen in is very salty and chemical-tasting.

Cracking the claws and soaking the lobster in fresh water for a few hours almost gets rid of the taste, but not enough for me to consider buying these unless they're very, very cheap. £3 or so.

Plastic netting, shrink-wrap and cardboard box with instructions for cracking etc. Maybe 30ml of melt water.
Taste was fine, just a little tough in some places.

Presumably fine for putting in a pasta sauce, though?
