First photography trip. :-)
Discussion
Hi peeps.
After a long interest in nice photos and wanting to take some for myself, I bit the bullet and decided to go for it.
So bought an SLR (arrived Thursday!), and spent this weekend just past at the Lakes.

Thank you thank you.

I did have the EOS 300 for a while, but have not taken a single (read: NOT ONE) good picture with it. And I'm not talking about a picture I can be proud of - I'm talking a picture in focus and with the right exposure. These, embarassingly, have always seemed to elude me.
With hindsight these are probably the reasons:
1) Crap equipment. That Tamron lens must've been shite.
2) Mail-order processing companies. 'Nuff said.
3) Just the inherent drawbacks of 35mm when compared to digital - not being able to see what you have captured, rationing frames etc.
I left photography for a while - last time I seriously took out the 300 was over a year ago. So, as a lifeline, I figured a dSLR would be the answer.
And blimey I was impressed with the results - not stunning, but at least I have some pretty decent ones in there. Maybe there's some hope for me after all...
Thanks Mrs. Fish. That one was, I'm proud to say, planned. But the contrast and drama between the white sparkle of the water and black silhouette really surprised me. Had no idea it was gonna turn out that way. I think it would be gorgeous if cropped to remove the garbage.
Oh, and just to add a No 4) I never used a tripod.

My shutter will be rolling a lot more now, that's for sure!
He of renewed faith,
D
