Well I have a weekend to kill and I fancy getting out with my camera. Does anyone know of any good locations up here for photography? I fancy doing a timelapse at some point as well as some startrails later.

Sutton Bank is shouting out at me as well as some other English heritage sites but maybe there are a few that are 'off the radar' so to speak.

I'm near Northallerton if that makes any difference. Any tips/info greatly appreciated.

There are all sorts of good places, Sutton Bank, as you say, Bylands Abbey isn't far, the White Horse, how about some of the floods, you shouldn't struggle to find them!

If you have a look on my flickr, www.flickr.com/markmullen I do a lot around North Yorkshire and carry a GPS logger so all my shots are geotagged, you should be able to get accurate maps for each shot.

Saltwick Bay is a good place to go if the weather delivers a decent sunrise.

Whilst walking around Whernside earlier it did cross my mind that doing a timelapse with Ribblehead Viaduct in it (or some startrails) would work quite well.

Hopefully I'll get something better done tomorrow!
