I think this is in the right section?
Anyone know where I can bulk buy this cheap?
Currently spending 95p for a 500g bag and would quite happily eat a kilo a day if not for costs so looking to bulk buy even if it means 50kg worth smile
Cheers

Your best bet is somewhere like Costco or Makro. You could check out Lidl & Aldi as well.

You could get lower prices online, but any savings would most likely be cancelled out by high shipping charges, due to the weight of the package.

It's £1.34 for a 1Kg bag at Asda.

How about some local restaurants? See how much they would want for a big bag from a supplier with their mark up on? Nice little easy earner for them.

eating a kilo of pasta a day is a surefire way of getting fking fat, really quickly.

but if that is your goal, go ahead, and i think costco/bookers/any cash an carry would be you be your best bet.

Im already 6'3 and 21 stone. Strongman competitor wink (well will be starting next year)
Its just so I dont have to rely on supplements and 1kg of wholewheat pasta is equivalent to around 600g of carbs and I need that as a minimum

Makro , booker and Costco are probably the most expensive cash and carries . Lots of local alternative always available

Ive tried nearly every shop in Halifax and googled; the places that did bulk buy were more expensive. Surprisingly some shops dont even stock wholewheat pasta!

ok, thats fair enough, just one thing, why would you need fat for a strongman competition? cause thats all pasta will give you, in my head its meat an loads of it with lifting and pushing the heavyest stuff i could find.

You would need to go to a city like Leeds . You should be able to blag your way into a wholesaler . Tell them it is for charity or something .

Wholewheat pasta isnt that high in fat, basically carbs are energy but as its complex carbs it releases slower and some other bollucks I cant remember. Yes meat side is important and I will be having around 400g of protein through meat and shakes.
Fat is very important too and you need more than the recommended daily allowance, circa 100g of saturated fat. I'd do a detailed explanation but google can help you smile

The whole pasta makes you fat IMO and others opinions is just a myth. As with anything if you eat and don't do anything you'll get fat. I think your confusing the fat look with a bloated look as normal pasta (with me aswell) can bloat people due to something which I can't remember biggrin

There are other ways of getting carbs in and its down to personal choice but for me its the easiness of preparing meals with pasta as it can go with everything I eat smile

Hello smiffy,
as a fellow gym/strength enthusiast I'm very jealous and my hat goes off to you.
Although not to your level, I know what your going through. As alternatives, oats are £1 per kilo in my local morrisons.
Also basmati rice, I got 2 5kg sacks in tesco for £7on offer. Cooking rice or pasta is pretty much the same and is easily swapped in diffent meals. This could be found at your local ethnic store. Do you use musclefood?

I hate oats laugh tried everything under the sun with them and cant stand them!
I sometimes have currys so rice is on the table at times smile
However I'm looking to follow the advice of my friend who is a bodybuilder and personal trainer; he recommended I have 7 meals a day consisting of 50g of protein and 60g+ of carbs per meal (I'll be using a mass gainer to make up 2 of the meals) and for me you can't beat a chicken and bacon pasta carbonara. 50g of protein easy, 100g of carbs easy and essential fats from bacon smile
Never heard of musclefood! Certainly going to look into it but at the moment I use gold standard nutrition which I highly recommend. Its steam cooked chicken and all you have to do is defrost/ microwave the chicken and your done! No more than 10 mins to make fahitas, 15-20mins for a curry etc.
Good luck with your training and if you need any help/advice either pm me or ask in health matters. They're a good bunch in there smile
