So the car needs a service in February, it's a minor service but since the car's still under warranty it's going back to an OPC.
The car has had all servicing done at Mid. Sussex so it'd be nice to see another matching Mid. Sussex stamp in the book and I don't mind taking the day off and going for a drive, getting a nice courtesy car for the day etc......

I live 1 mile from Colchester OPC.

Where should I book it in?

It makes no difference which OPC you go to smile If I were you, I'd go for the nice drive though. Any excuse!

You know the answer before you asked the question...... Colchester. It will make zero difference to any buyer

Not a stupid question, yes of course it makes no difference which opc you use BUT I live closer to Cambridge but had opc Colchester service it to keep the stamps the same in the book. Made a difference to me. If it matters to you then it matters period.
I did though play them off against each other and got a much better deal as a result.

Just placed my order for the next Cayman at Colchester....perhaps I should have bought from Cambridge to help you out in the future!! smile

I hope you and the car are keeping well, mate?!

I try and have my cars serviced at the original dealer I purchase from. It creates a good relationship with the OPC and gives a bit more reassurance to future buyers as the OPC knows the car from birth...as it were!!!

Ring mid Sussex and explain the situation and see if they can give you a 991s as a courtesy car for the day, then have a good drive down, go out in their car for a blast, nice bit of lunch and shops and then good drive home again.

I understand the desire for continuity in the service book completely but I do have OCD.

Few things in life are more beautiful than a 911 service book with rows of neat, matching stamps.

Nowadays you usually only get one every couple of years, which spoils it a bit.

I once had a 3.2 with 22 Lancaster Colchester stamps. Pages of the things. I still think about that book. It was a work of art.

I would call you OCD but I think you'd prefer it if called you CDO. wink

I think a bit of variation is in order - do you have a local Lexus dealer?
biggrin

Quite agree. I only ever open the service booklet to make sure the stamp is there.

On the other hand, perhaps if OPC's started introducing a little artwork into their stamps, they'd encourage customers to get the set! biggrin

My first brand new Pork was as RS from my local OPC - I took it to service there for the same reasons - except they asked me on more than one occasion if I had bought the car new, or where I got it from. And that is for a rare model!! The only person who seemed to remember was the cute girl from marketing - she even remembered my registration wink

Well I'm glad to see I'm not alone (or quite as bad as some) in my nerdiness!
Last word went to SWMBO who told me to "stop being bloody stupid, a Porsche garage is the same as any other" whilst this may not be entirely accurate the decision had been made.
Thanks for your input!

Seems to me sometimes you want the dealer to fight your corner. I have a solid relationship with my OPC and they've fought my corner more than once. You're right to take it back and the stamps will impress many people when it comes to resale.

Plus who wants to drive a 911 for one stinking mile?

Hi Spencer,
To be honest there is only a couple of miles in it but wanted the continuity of the service. It worked in my favour too! But anyway I'm really good and the car is fabulous, I was home this past week end and went out to Saffron Walden in it on Sunday as it was a nice day. Good blast out for me and shopping for the missus lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new one in the metal smile
