no update...the GTC as demo'd at the motor show is the final version...expect them to hit the road early 05. There will, however, be a souped up variant, possibly more targa M12, that should incorporate the extra turbo.

I couldn't wait, so I just bought a 2nd hand M12 to enjoy the beast, and I'll upgrade to open top mortoring a little later, once they have restored the power output

Anyone know if the single turbo is driven off one or both exhaust banks? I'd guess both which would make getting M12 power almost trivial if you really felt the need.

I think you'll find that the GTC only has one exhaust...unless I'm missing something

Why only one, when the GTO3/3R has two?

exactly....a step backwards IMHO....hence my deposit withrawl from the GTC in favour of the purchase of a 2nd hand M12 in anticipation of the re-powered convertible version (not expecting to hear anything for another 12m)...the twin exhaust/turbo targa requires the original M12 rear end...hence it is more likely to be a targa..the GTC rear does not yield enough space for the twin exhaust/turbo so I'm told.

That doesn't mean it's not plumbed into both banks. I'd guess the lower power is from A) a bit less boost B) more restrictive intake/exhaust.

The engine is going to be the same underneath I'd imagine. So push a BAR of boost into it and you'll be back at 350BHP before you know it. You may need a bigger turbo however and I'm guessing lag is going to be a problem. Then all you have to do is get Roush to map it all up for you and you're away....

Maybe when they're a couple of years old then.

The spec is available for all to see...search the archives, I did forward the full PR sheet for posting (think Justin put it on)...from memory I think it is only 295 bhp...and only 1 exhaust.

Yes, but it doesn't tell you the plumbing configuration does it?

Think about it. The most expensive part of a Noble is the engine. The GTC is the lowest cost M12 available.

It has it's power set at where it is for a reason....

They don't want the cheap things to be as good as the expensive ones...

Or simply that it's less expensive to develop the engines for 295bhp than for 350+ bhp. And only one turbo reduces the costs further.

Hence the £5k price saving....

Would you pay £60k for a full 350+bhp version, and put your money down in a deposit?

Yellowshed's said it in simpler terms that I intimated at.

As people should know, power costs money, and it's cheaper to take an engine to ~+90 bhp than nearly double it's specific output.
