Too far?

Having almost finished building my new system (will be finished when Scan pull their finger out and deliver the RAM & panel ), I was seriously tempted by the idea of getting my case sprayed.

Is this the PC equivalent of Max Muppetism? Should I go have a quiet word with myself?

The colour would be Halcyon Atlantis blue, and the case is a CoolerMaster Wavemaster. I'd get a local paintshop/bodyshop to do the work.

I got a Cheiftech case which is a nice granite grey with silver inserts down the front. Why paint a nice case, will it fit into your current decor better? It looks nice but more importantly disappears into the hole in the desk nicely.

I can understand putting round-cables inside and adding modifications to help your PC, and I can understand putting lights in if you are overly concerned that the fans stop working but fer christs sake why on earth have SATA cables which light up?

there is a post somewhere on the internet about a guy who built a PC and made the case a Half Life2 replica. He made the whole thing and rusted in completey to the extent where it was bobbly and had red power buttons and stuff.

Looked impressive but the PC inside was ignored - it was watercooled with green liquid to match the game.

thats the one. Clever, and looks "great" but all that mesh will slow airflow which won't be helping his gpu much (unless thats water cooled as well).

Sign, not much space for upgrades either. Least he didn't make the mobo rusty like he planned to (it was originally released on a forum somewhere and he talked through all his mods, answering questions and taking on board ideas as he went).
