Now according to the insurer you're a liability and could mow down a bus stop full of children next week cos obviously it's your fault cos you parked there so obviously you're dangerous and must pay more....
No, according to most insurance companies he parks in a spot that has history of people hitting parked cars, ergo the risk is increased. I don't why people sturggle to understand this.If you make a claim then statistically your risk of making another is higher, therefore you pay more. It's still a s
tter for the OP. These hit and run people should be birched.BrewsterBear said:

My car was parked outside my dads overnight, I had walked home due to having a few too many. I went back in the morning to get it to be greeted by the sight of the front bumper hanging off on the N/S with bits of trim and gubbins from under the bonnet scattered a further few feet up the road.
Of course no details were left, I tied up the bumper with spandy straps as best I could and drove to work, as it was a company car it went through works insurance however it was all in my name as I was in charge of the car at the time so I have to declare it when sorting the other halfs car insurance out, fortunately work paid the excess.
It must have been hit with a big old thump to cause the damage it did however the alarm didn't go off, it cost £2600 to repair.

Amusingly the premium will still go up for "Third-Party only".
Yes, because if you've made the risky decision to park at the bottom of an icy hill, you might make the risky decision to do thing which could create third-party claims. And if the insurance company had to investigate if it was your risky decision or someone else's poor driving for every claim then all premiums would be higher anyway.
Not saying I like it, but it's the way it is.
Happened to me while at a friend's house - my second EP3 CTR. Heard the bang but couldn't get out quick enough to catch the culprit. I'd only had the car 3 weeks and it was immaculate - not so much as a stone chip or a swirl mark on it. Absolutely heart-breaking and never felt the same about the car afterwards. There was almost £4k of damage.
My father had this happen once in a nearly empty icy public car park, and the cheeky b
d had left a blank piece of paper under his windscreen, presumably to ensure anyone who saw it assumed he'd left his details.
On the plus side the fact he'd managed to bend the bumper on a Defender probably means he came off worse.
